... spent most of his early youth in a city named Clio, Michigan. At nine, when his
Father got a new position at General Motors, they moved to
Shelby Twp. Sadly, Dad said they had to bring along the little brother.
Afer nine years in suburbia, he was accepted to Michigan State University as a computer science major. Three years into it, he decided he was more interested in religious studies. After another year, though, his funding ran out, and he got a day job.
During this five year break, there was much self-loathing, and frustration. But, like most artists, the self-loathing and frustration only served to fuel his art, and turned, for him, into a love for writing. Once he really started working on it, he wrote his first novel in about a year (though it took about four, total). He's done other stuff, but none of it is finished yet. "Soon!" he says. In January of 2005 he returned to school, and has since been attending on and off.
The Lansing metro area has since been his beloved home. It was in these cities that he has built a life and a second family of friends. He is currently working full time as a Netwok Support Specialist for a small webhosting company called Core Networks, just outside of Lansing.
Dave in a nutshell:
Dave likes to sit in greasy spoons and write, or read, or people watch. If you see him out, you're most likely to see him bent over a notebook (lined, of course), cup of coffee just off his left hand (one cream, one sugar), wearing his favorite hat (even after the dog attacked it), writing line after line of a story that's playing itself out in his head. He may like to talk to you, but more than likely he's quite content sitting there, allowing the stories to flow out of him.
He likes his transformers (more than he should), and plays with them even today.
He's a lefty, and often thinks that this entitles him to special treatment. His friends often disagree.
He likes gaming (mostly white wolf, even though he hates the company's practices lately). He plays in a LARP regularly.
He likes lots of comics. He spends lots of time, every day, reading online comics. Here is what he reads.
He keeps a Livejournal here. Leave him a comment, and friend him!
