Scheduling madness.

Mostly for my own reference.

Saturday, September 25th, 5:00 PM – Jason and Ari’s wedding.
Thursday, October 14th – Bachelor Party
Saturday, October 16th – Coed wedding shower, put on by Amy.
Sunday, October 17th – Grandma Bean’s 80th birthday party.

Much shift-swapping madness. Perhaps, for the gift registry, I should find a good pocket planner/date book.

Horoscope

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Even if you’re not a jazz fan, you’ll thrive in the coming week by using a modus operandi that resembles jazz. I suggest, therefore, that you improvise frequently. Experiment with intricate, strong, and playful rhythms. Infuse your yearning for freedom with humor. For further insight about how to proceed, meditate on the following clues from three jazz greats. Ornette Coleman: “Jazz is the only music in which the same note can be played night after night but differently each time.” John Coltrane: “You can play a shoestring if you’re sincere.” Miles Davis: “Don’t play what’s there, play what’s not there.”

I have so much volume to talk about, and it doesn’t want to be put into words… too small of a medium, you understand.

I had a dream the night before last that is still affecting me.  It felt like some outside force was controlling, re-focusing, and twisting a normally recurring dream along a strange path.  I was hesitatnt about going to sleep last night, because of this.

My excitement for spending this weekend up north is boundless.  I’m sure it has something to do with moving forward on a creative project, one that will help free me from corporate slavery, not to mention filling this creative emptiness I’ve had since finishing the novel.

My reader’s copy of the American Gods preferred edition finally came via FedEx today.  I don’t have to crack the spine of the hardbound in JAPANESE SILK copy.  The signed copy.  The numbered copy.  Oh, and did I mention, this version is Neil Gaiman’s preferred version, and what he’d rather have seen hit the shelves?  That’s right, you’re jealous.  And ‘s mom isn’t going to b0rk this one up. :)

I’ve been invited for ham tonight, where I will drop off pictures of tartan.  Plaid, if you will.  Then laundry and packing.  Like I said, I’m excited.

Apparently, Diana gets all the puppy love.

Dragging myself out of bed, thinking I’m late, but actually being early.

I was up and out of bed early this morning, despite thinking that I was late.  Got everything taken care of, even grabbed leftovers from last night for lunch today.  I picked up my tax info to work on the FAFSA, which I’ve already done.  I picked up the phone bill, which is ready to send out now.  I picked up the list of names ( called me this morning, I was all happy!) for the bachelor’s party, and am in the middle of composing the email to send out to my best man, aka my brother.

I was even able to successfully pick up ‘s check from work for deposit.  Tonight, I’m going to try to crash in Lansing so that I can deposit the check in MSU FCU in the morning, and then head back here to work.

I’m still trying to decide if I’ll be risking my sanity by working OT.  Maybe I should give it a shot, try it out, and if I implode, then I’ll know it was a bad idea. :)

Coherent and well-written? Psht.

Haven’t heard back from the City Pulse, and I’d forgotten to call them back on Thursday. I’m forgetful, and so I’ll leave a message on a Sunday.

There doesn’t seem to be a package updater in Knoppix. Something similar to what I’m thinking of is mentioned in libranet debian, so I’m downloading the images right now. I’m not expecting a windows update. No, I’m expecting something slick. Also, I’m expecting something that can print. Whoops.

I’m heading to bed early. Got a check to pick up tomorrow, if they’ll let me have it, and then I’ve got to figure out how to get to an MSU FCU branch… a night-bag and crashing at a friends’ place might just be in order. I’ll do my pleading via phone tomorrow.

IPM has a webcam operating once more. The world is ending, or the camera isn’t long for this world.

Hey ! Did the techs come by? Do you have teh intarweb? I have many tartan pics printed out for you. Also a snail mail address that you left at my place.

I must plow forward. Put my shoulder into it, and push with all my might. The universe will give way eventually.
