The Rich Man<\/h5>\n

 16<\/span> Someone came to Jesus with this question: \u201cTeacher,[f<\/a>]<\/sup> what good deed must I do to have eternal life?\u201d<\/p>\n

 17<\/span> \u201cWhy ask me about what is good?\u201d<\/woj> Jesus replied. \u201cThere is only One who is good. But to answer your question\u2014if you want to receive eternal life, keep[g<\/a>]<\/sup> the commandments.\u201d<\/woj><\/p>\n

 18<\/span> \u201cWhich ones?\u201d the man asked.<\/p>\n

   And Jesus replied: \u201c\u2018You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely.<\/woj> 19<\/span> Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.\u2019[h<\/a>]<\/sup>\u201d<\/woj><\/p>\n

 20<\/span> \u201cI\u2019ve obeyed all these commandments,\u201d the young man replied. \u201cWhat else must I do?\u201d<\/p>\n

 21<\/span> Jesus told him, \u201cIf you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come,follow me.\u201d<\/woj><\/p>\n

 22<\/span> But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions.<\/p>\n

 23<\/span> Then Jesus said to his disciples, \u201cI tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.<\/woj> 24<\/span> I\u2019ll say it again\u2014it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!\u201d<\/woj><\/p>\n
