Life Changes

Today I am a student. Luckily, my first and only class on Mondays and Wednesdays doesn’t start until 7 PM. So, I’m trying to wake up without a shower…

Still no hot water. Though the water heater is covered under our house warantee, the plumber can’t make it back out until Wednesday. At least, not at a time when we’ll be here. So, it looks like we’ll continue borrowing the use of ‘s shower until then.

The housewarming party was amazing. Just, pure amazing. I can’t thank everyone that came enough. Now you know why I started the tour in the basement! Well, at least until I was no longer able to give the tour. Heh.

Schoolbooks are a gouge. Same old story, yadda yadda.

My professor emailed the syllabus for my writing class to us, and it’s about five pages. It looks like it’s going to be a blast, though. We’re going to need to keep a writing journal! Anything we want in it, including fiction. Wait, that means I’ll be able to write for the and get class credit for it! *does the Skippy Shuffle*

More thoughts as soon as I can breathe through my nose. :)

Gearing up…

Good things that are happening on my last day at Comcast:

  • Not only do I have a metric butt-ton of G1 Transformers thanks to Tim, but I also have an original Scorponok.
  • Override for the “getting your shit published” class at MSU has been finalized, and my schedule has been switched around to accomodate. Tuesdays and Thursdays are gonna be busy. :)
  • Everyone here seems extremely happy for me, and not bitter/jealous. There are good people here, and I wish I could take them with me.

Also, my new year’s resolution:

In the year 2005 I resolve to:
Become one with my inner sociopath.

Horoscope

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): All of us have a dark side–a part of our psyches that is unripe, a bit crazed, and out of sync with our highest values. If you try to suppress it or deny its existence, it controls you surreptitiously. If you acknowledge its presence and cultivate a relationship with it, you may be able to harness some of its raw power for good causes. You’ve got to love it without overindulging it; give it voice without allowing it to possess you. I mention all of this, Taurus, because 2005 should be the year you dramatically upgrade and refine the role that your dark side plays in your life.

Engage whine mode: But I wanna be at my house NOOOOWWWWWW

So, I’m stuck at work. Though I have enough Generation 1 Transformers sitting on my desk to make Murawski weep, I’m still jealous of , who is at the new house. Moving progressed without difficulty, according to her, and 90% of our stuff is in our house. even likes the house, and says we got a good one. Mom likes it too, but I think she worries. Mom always worries. ;)

So, we’ll be dropping off the keys and confirming the forwarding address and vacating the apartment completely on Thursday. Now, for the important info:

Housewarming Party

Saturday, January 8. If you’re of the parental persuasion, or don’t enjoy lively parties, or are underage, your party starts at 4. If not, and you’re interested in a party involving alcohol and crazy times, your party starts at 9. The address, for this and snail mail purposes, is:

119 N. Fairview
Lansing, MI 48912

Ye gods, that’s short. :)

Also, I’d like to state for the record that doing what we’ve done, in the time that we’ve had, gives me a grand sense of accomplishment. I’m going back to school, I’m going to finish my degree, and I’m doing it. We’re married, we purchased a house, we’ve moved, and we DID IT.

Tornado of Holiday Cheer

The house is ours, everything is signed, and they keys are in my trench coat pocket.

For everyone that was interested in helping, the move day is the 28th. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but since I’m going to be at work, will be organizing the move. Let either of us know if you can or want to help. and , I’ll get back to you since you’ve already offered. :) Also: Pizza will be provided. has been dealing with where to rent the truck from, and U-Haul, though the least reliable, is the most affordable.

I give my notice to work today. While frightening, it will feel good.

And this is yet one more reason why I respect Governor Granholm. I’d even vote for her for President.

Two Christmas celebrations down, one and a half to go. Many gifts given and received, and I’m just happy to be prepared for the house. So many tools! Tonight, we sleep in our house for the first time… Aunt Betty’s bringing up an air matress for that exact purpose. Heh.

Okay, I’m getting a bit of a headache, so I’m going to take some Aleve. Hopefully lunch and letter-writing will help, too.
