The bedroom floor is terribly cold.

The printer shakes the table just enough to wobble my original G1 Optimus Prime in a slightly alarming fashion. Not enough, however, to tip him over. This is the first real big test of my printer, and it’s holding up well. It’s printing the first three chapters, plus the prelude, to my novel for . I had to run some printer head cleaning cycles because of some bad paper, but now it’s all good. You can re-use folded paper in laser printers, but not in inkjet ones. Lesson learned.

Today, I leave for Ohio. This week is surreal. I’m looking forward to that trend continuing, but in a more fun manner than it did yesterday. Introducing the “family”, so to speak.

I think I may make this week even more surreal by posting random entries from my ancient paper journal that we were assigned to write in during my stint in Junior High School. Yup, it’s too surreal not to. It’s even in cursive.

Journal Entry #1, May 1st.

My spring break was rather boring. I went up north. We went just a little bit farther north than the tip of the “thumb”. We set up camp in my Grandmother’s cabin. Then we took a leisurely drive up the side of Michigan. We finally arrived at a spot where my father used to go smelt fishing. When I put my cheap plastic waders on, then went out into the cold water, I realized my waders had a leak. After a few minutes in the freezing cold water, my feet started to go numb. I had to go back on to shore for a few minutes to gain the feeling back. After about fifteen minutes of dipping unsuccessfully, we decided the smelt weren’t running (this was in the daytime). So we packed it up and went to various parks in the area to pass the time away until it got dark. When it finally did, we went back to the spot. We took out our flashlights and found out the smelt still weren’t running. So we went to our Aunt Lorita’s house for a while and then went back to the cabin. The next day we went home. (This was the first weekend of Spring break) When we got home we were bushed. The rest of the vacation was pretty dull. I did a lot of home movie making, I even came out with two things I am sending into America’s Funniest Home Videos”

Any errors have been transcribed as-is. I wasn’t such a bad speller back then.

SQL

Can someone please point me to a good spot online to learn SQL? I know there are a few tutorial sites out there, but I’m looking for a quality one. Any help would be appreciated. :)

“How did you come up with that? You’re not spontaneous!”

Yesterday was goddamn primo, kinda like orange marmalade.

Well, except for the head-splitting and nauseating headache I woke up with. I called in, took some ibuprofin, and went back to bed. I woke up around one, feeling much improved, and went in to work. At work, I stayed late to watch a Novell Netware server install after having a Q&A session with our local Apple rep. Good learning stuff there.

Then, it was Denny’s for writing and a garlic mushroom burger with seasoned fries and a side of ranch. NUMMY. After that, it was off to ‘s abode. I haven’t seen that bastard in so long. And he got me a Christmas gift. A mint, all pieces included, Soundwave. PLUS three tapes. Laserbeak, the other bird I can’t remember the name of, and Rumble (or was it Frenzy?). I seriously needed to change my damn pants. Besides the excellent hanging out, I also got the video back of Episode 1, 2, and NightBiker of ‘s TV show, PLUS leant me the first season of the original transformer series on DVD. Once again, must change pants.

Afterwards, I picked up and headed over to Theio’s so she could read what I’d written. While there, we decided to go to Ohio this weekend.

EVERYONE THAT I KNOW IN OHIO – I AM ACTUALLY COMING DOWN THIS WEEKEND AND DRAGGING WITH ME. Contact me if you have crash space to offer and/or want some Skippy visiting goodness. :) Also, I don’t have the address for either and ‘s new place or ‘s new place. I’ll need these, and need to know if I will still take 8 off of the turnpike. FIND ME ON AIM, YOU OHIOAN BASTARDS!! :)

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): In 1997, Jody Williams won the Nobel Peace Prize for her work to persuade more than 100 countries to ban deadly land mines. When she held a press conference at the end of a dirt road near her Vermont farmhouse, she was barefoot and wore jeans and a tank top. It reflected the unassuming nature that had served her so well during years of dogged efforts to change the world. I nominate this ordinary hero to be your role model in the coming weeks, Taurus. According to my reading of the astrological omens, your gradual, matter-of-fact persistence will give you the power to make a fundamental improvement in the way your environment reflects your ideals.

Warrior Quiz

I got both of these results, and it asked me to pick one. Instead, I’m posting both:

My sphere is Soldier (Unity in Strength and Action), and my class is Champion (Self-Righteous and Confident).

I am a Campaigner.

You have the mark of the Campaigner upon you. You have strong, self-righteous beliefs, and people who share your ideals. Your strong presence leaves the mark of leadership upon your shoulders, and you probably find yourself being the one who carries the mantle of “Alpha” on his shoulders.

What kind of Warrior are you?

My sphere is Guardian (Person of great Love and Altruism), and my class is Champion (Self-Righteous and Confident).

I am a Hero.

You are true heroic material. You find great motivation in the things you love, and great inspiration in your sense of self-confidence, and your excellence. Once you get your mind set on a goal, you are nearly unstoppable, and given enough time, you will meet it.

What kind of Warrior are you?

The job interview went exceedingly well. In fact, the guy is shuffling around the second interviews so that I can get one. He’s calling the three other applicants and delaying their interviews until I can get mine.

It’s full time, full benefits, starting at 40K a year. Starting. When it comes to the duties of the job, let’s just say it’s my absolute dream job. Complete and total use of my OCD and computer skills, in one job. There is only one issue.

Relocation to Saginaw would be an absolute necessity.

I cannot pass up this job. I just can’t. It’s too perfect. That, and the houses on fire less than half a block from the Wendy’s where I had my interview. So, I may need to snag you, , and/or you, , to find a sufficiently Dave place to live in Saginaw. Not until I have the job in hand, though.

Fret.
