Ohio

The trip to Ohio was much needed and very well-timed. The game was top-notch, and the hooker jokes were unparalleled.

Could have done without the Ratkin, especially when describing the inside of one of B. B. Wolfe’s cages at Dr. Celestine’s Carnival of Souls. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen a Ratkin that hasn’t been played by a rules-lawyer type that wants to weasel out of actually role-playing. Yeah, bitter. Nobody fucks with the Carnival for me. Heh.

Mr. Weaver’s roller coaster was extremely well received.

Shelby Township is scraping at me, like fingernails on a chalk board. My car payment became due a week earlier than originally agreed, which would be fine if I had received my first paycheck yet. There are a few details that did not meet with the satisfaction of inspection. That’s no biggie, and it will only take me an hour or so to fix. Just another piece of straw on the camel’s back. After I sleep tonight, all of this won’t matter. I’ll be smiling on the way to my job again. My key to independence. That’s really what this job is to me, and why I can’t get over the opportunity it represents.

By the way, I slept an extremely restful sleep at and ‘s apartment. I had the most gentle awakening by their daughter when she was trying to figure out who I was. Apparently, “skippy” = “kippy” for a two year old. Excellent.

For those of you that I nit-picked about letters to, don’t worry about it. They will be well-appreciated when they come, but more so if they come when they’re due, and not before. And , I’m not forgetting you. ;)

Tomorrow is a step closer to me.

Rage

I felt a dark rage that pulsed with the music on the radio today. I felt it, and it drove away my oversleeping-related headache. I felt it on the way to the post office to drop off a letter to which won’t actually go out until Tuesday, thanks to the holiday weekend.

I used the rage to finish the landscaping. It’s all finally done.

I was thinking something extremely poetic in the car. That got swallowed up in using the rage. I don’t remember what it was, except that I was going to end it with “ owes me a letter.” as a non-sequiter. If the poetry has been sacrificed in turning the emotion into action, then so be it.

By the way, she really does owe me a letter. So do and .

IPM had some fantastic conversations and, unfortunately, invovled me leaving early. I desperately needed sleep.

, I remember thinking on the ride home that your hugs felt like healing magic.

It hurts a lot when I miss

Contact Lenses

Over the past week or so, the contact lens in my left eye has been refusing to not dry out, refusing to re-moisturize, and was constantly giving me foggy vision. It was to the point yesterday where I was closing my left eye just so I could see clearly. This morning, I swapped out my lenses (such a g33k) for a fresh pair. It’s a lot better, mind you, but not perfect. My left eye seems to have this desire to cover the contact lens in this thicker-than-tears goo that fogs up my vision. It’s cleared up a lot from this morning, and I’m hoping that it will eventually go away.

Is this anything like the symptoms you were experiencing, ? I’m wondering if I’m going to have to get glasses again.

Written last night at Luna.

The universe would choose now for a spiritual re-awakening. Not the universe, really. The Gods. And me. Can’t forget my role in this irony. Damn the Conceptual Satanists and their irony. But I digress.

Once, there was the crossing between opportunity, talent, and life that would have included me among those considered musically talented. That crossroads was passed by choice. Now, I am content to be a consumer. A lover of many kinds of music, most especially electronica.

I can appreciate those sets put together by talented DJ’s like , , and , just to name a few. Once again, I can close my eyes and drift away on the waves of sound (Soundwave?). Once again, I can feel that second heartbeat behind the crashing waves. I can feel it remembering me.

Or maybe it’s the two Red Bull energy drinks.

I’m on lunch at work.

There are several different kinds of sobe in the vending machine in the cafeteria.

I have finally caught up on my letters to send to .

Shark fin cable modems are dumb.

I was more tired this morning than I am now. Yay, sugar!

I shall continue to bring my lunch except for on Fridays.

That is all… for now!

Wow.

Short, and to the point.

I’m still extremely excited about my new job. It’s not that the reality of phone support hasn’t kicked in. It’s the -opportunity- that I’m granted, even if the job comes down to nothing more than a steady paycheck and benefits. Even then, no matter what policies change or Corecomm-like slave-driving ensues (something I seriously doubt), I will -still- have the paycheck and benefits, which amply make up for anything they can dish out in an 8-hour day.

I spent the weekend gaming with and hanging out with , , and . I really couldn’t have asked for a better time.

And this guy, who I was sure hated me, didn’t seem to hate me today.

I smiled when I realized that the watered-down root beer was making me make the same face that had made while drinking the non-watered-down stuff earlier. I just grinned and grinned.

I’ve caught up on LJ, for now. Soon, it will be out of my grasp again. Fear not, the landscaping is almost completed, and I’m filled with a great big happy.

Time to go to bed. I have to be on the road at 8.

Early Horoscope

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): This week Mars is closer to Earth than it has been since cavemen roamed the earth. It also happens to be midway through a five-month sojourn in your astrological House of Networking, which is its longest stay since 1956. Because the red planet invigorates everything it influences, you could very well be a whiz at winning friends and influencing people from now until December. But keep in mind that unless you respond with all your passionate ingenuity to the arousing Martian energy, it may also have a disruptive effect. Here’s your rule of thumb: Go all the way, give everything you have, and don’t hold back.
