I am coming to regret this afternoon’s ghost pepper cheese. Also some of that apple cider. Not all. Some.

The VA our veterans deserve
I want every veteran of the United States military to have medical, dental, vision, mental health, and life insurance fully covered. I don’t want them to have to pay a cent for their health for the rest of their lives. They should have excellent doctors, who are compensated competitively. These human beings were, and are, willing to risk their lives for ours. This seems like a no-brainer.
I wonder, if we took away the lifelong insurance plans we give Federal Senators and Congresspeople, and limit those benefits to the length of their terms, how much would that help?
Shit my kids say
Acelyn: “This nail in my arm is a boo boo!”
Me: “It’s an IV.”
Acelyn: “Dad! It’s still a boo boo!”
Why is this even a contest?
I watched the debate. It was on the TV at the diner. Can we rate the winner and loser of the debate by fact check results? Please? More truth = more win?
You know…

Review – Chain Mail Bikini
Chainmail Bikini: The Anthology of Women Gamers by Hazel Newlevant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This graphic novel is exactly what it says on the tin.
Enlightening, eye-opening, and privilege-checking. My local library stocks this, and if you’re into comics and gaming, your brainmeats deserve this. Might even need it.
Review – Mists of Avalon
The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This is a big read. The story of the time of King Arthur, as told from the point of view of the women of the time. It’s a familiar tale, but told with more depth and dimension than I’d experienced in any earlier telling.
There are cycles in the book in which I want to strangle pretty much every single character, but they are far and few between. If you’re interested in Arthurian legends, druids, pagans, post-Roman Christianity, and/or long form fiction, I recommend this book.
