Ever read the Left Behind series? After I was a third of the way into my (admittedly Revelations-inspired, amongst other things) novel, people started bringing this up. “What’s it about?” they’d say. “It’s a post-apocalyptic sci-fi fantasy that deals with the aftermath of a pseudo-Revelations,” I’d respond. Mostly because I’m not very good at answering “What’s it about?”. They’d hook onto that last bit and say, “Oh, like Left Behind?”

No. Not like Left Behind.

But, if you’re looking for more of that, there’s a new Left Behind video game coming out just in time for Christmas. Apparently, you, as a “true” Christian, get to go around shooting everyone who won’t convert.

Seriously.

You MURDER everyone who won’t become your kind of Christian.

Luckily for children of Rick Warren-type fundamentalists, there is an option to play the other side. Wonder what will happen when parents discover that their “Christian” video game, which is more violent than Grand Theft Auto, with or without the Hot Coffee cheat, has led their children astray.
