Superglue as proof of deity.

I’d also like to note that I’d be nowhere near as productive as I’ve been if not for superglue.

I’d broken my good headphones, and my backup pair suck. Luckily, the break had been clean enough that the broken edges mated evenly, and superglue (teflon, people!) bonded them together perfectly.

I spent a week with those crap headphones. IPM is so much better when one can -hear- the bass.

Progress Report

Last night, I finished all of the robot-ish rewriting. No more giant, no more transforming, but still with the robots and the swords and the New Samurai and the goodness.

Have a couple of artists working on the cover graphic. It’s going to be sweet. AND professional.

The next step is to the last sweep of the novel, to make sure that I’ve removed all of what I wanted to remove, and kept what I wanted to keep. I must use this as a reward for finishing my Islam paper, otherwise it might have difficulty getting written.

The paper, that is.

Blog concerns.

So, some of my friends are leaving LiveJournal. They’ve established blogs on their own sites, with RSS feeds. Many of the blogs that I read daily are actually RSS feeds to my LJ friends’ page. But then again, many of my friends post to their LJ’s exclusively.

And I like to read a lot of people. I have 140 in my friends’ list.

With the likelihood that I will soon be a famous author, *crosses fingers* I’m thinking of moving my blog off of LJ, and setting up an RSS feed for it. I don’t want to hit LJ’s servers enough to qualify as a corporate user, if that definition even still exists. I’d have to move my pics off, as well, but that’s what Album is for. Or so keeps telling me. :)

Should I stop reading my friends’ page? Should I keep the LJ account for the friends’ page, and let RSS do the work for me? Should I keep it on LJ, and just plunk it into my professional-writery-home-page-thingerdoo?

So, yeah. Blog concerns.

Not hypocritical.

once said that she participates professionally in a system that she thinks is broken, as she intends to home school. She’s a teacher. I remember (hopefully correctly) her being concerned with hypocrisy.

There will always be those whose parents don’t have the luxury of time and/or money to home school their children. These kids, I think, still deserve the best education system that we can give them.

This, of course, backs up my penchant to fix broken systems from within. Or, to suggest that others do so. Heh.

So, even with a validated conception of home schooling, fixing the public school system is worthwhile.

New Userpic

I’ve got a new default userpic.

This was taken last semester outside of my Japanese class, by one of my classmates. said, when she saw the photo, “That’s your book picture!” I guess I look like some kind of author or something in it. ;)
