TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Some astrologers theorize that there’s an undiscovered planet called Vulcan, whose orbit is inside that of Mercury. Because it’s so close to the sun’s obliterating blaze, scientists haven’t detected it. In ancient Roman mythology, Vulcan was the god of metal-working. From his forge beneath the earth, he made tools for himself and the other gods. His creations were renowned for both their usefulness and beauty. The astrologers who propose the existence of the planet Vulcan say it’s the ruler of Taurus. I bring this to your attention because it so happens that you’re poised to channel its influence with maximum strength in the coming weeks. Try this meditation: Visualize yourself wielding controlled fire to forge beautiful and useful things for you and your powerful allies.
Geekin’ out
Well, that’s done. The hub is plugged in to the router. I have 3 ports of 100 base T goodness (2 in use) directly from the router, and 5 ports of 10 base T goodness, none of which are in use.
I find it amazing that in a house of two macs and one (non-working) PC, it’s the ancient PC that’s the graphics machine. Parallel port scanner, zip drive, and cd-burner. Oh yeah. Bottleneck at the motherboard, baby.
Oh, and just in case I don’t say it enough in public:
I love
Geekitude
I think, when I get home from work, I will add the hub into the mix as far as my cable modem and router go, thereby doubling the number of computers that can connect to my apartment’s network.
I haven’t done something like this just because I could in a very long time.
Lunch time.

And I have to go into the office in a few minutes. Curses!
I got all of my letter replies out yesterday. Today, I get all of the bills out. Oh, need to call Progressive as well. And pick up the coursepack for my class.
What’s with this getting things done? Bah!
“I could fuck up some gophers! What are you gonna do, butter ’em?”

Routers are stupid-easy to set up via web interfaces. Well, at least Netgear made-for-cable-modem-and-DSL routers are. Now I’m going to have to see if I can tweak it and mess with it. Any suggestions,
Yesterday was a good day all around, really. Thank you,
Time to learn about RAID technology from Apple. Wonder if they’ve got anything I don’t know yet.

are dull and conformative (although it might).
It might just mean you’re a little bit of
everything, which isn’t bad.
What type of subculture are you, really?

I actually don’t hate work today. I’m not sick (though everyone else here is), and I’ve apologized to everyone for giving them the plague. After having the goddamn bug three times, I can see which stages each of them are at. Did I really sound that bad when I coughed? Gah.
Class is cancelled today, so I’ll be studying at Theio’s soon. I will probably also be writing letters. It was pointed out that I’m infamous for taking my time in replying to letters. While that’s true, I… um… shit. Well, I can at least work to change that impression. :)
No stasis for me.
“More coffee?” “Yes, please.”
Blodgett may yet be my savior.

I’ve shaved, and now I must trim my goatee.
I would have never guessed that Apple’s online training would include a course on the Life Sciences, just because they’re a target customer.
