Home Base Update

I now have a (hopefully) more stable computer at home. It’s an old Dell desktop with a PCI wireless card. Thanks, ! If Dell decides to honor the Windows license that’s stickered on the case, I’ll be getting a restore CD soon and it’ll run Windows. If they don’t, I’ll put Ubuntu on there. Why the preference for Windows?

Work from home. There are some work apps that require it. *shrug*

Anyone have a good Transformer name for a Dell box with a black and gray case? Rounded on the corners.

The taking over of my desk by dragons continues. This one, also a gift, is being attacked by two wee humans on the tree branch. I wouldn’t mess with something with a face like that.

Oh, wait. I mess with Windows every day. Okay, I now have the Microsft bashing out of my system. Carry on.

Last Sunday I hit the road to Clio to hang out with my brother, seen

Being the Crampton that I am, I showed up a bit early. I visited the apartment building in which my late Great Aunt Della used to live, and I drove by the house that I spent the first nine years of my life in. I found myself overwhelmed by nostalgia and a surreal connection to my generational past.

The visit with Joe was almost as surreal. After checking out his entry for the 89X TV commercial, we hit a restaurant with a pirate theme in Frankenmuth. The front was filled with the over 60 set dancing to live polka. The back was filled with people in Ren Fest garb. We sat directly between them.

I need to hang out with Joe more often.

Yaarrrp.

Today, Microsoft ActiveSync can die in a fire.

Also, Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 -still- can’t handle standard mail protocols worth a damn. Also with the perishing while immolated.

Coffee is good.

Verizon needs to be subject to their own call center and paperwork policies and practices for eternity as a punishment for extreme dumb. Yes, you need to fill out three forms and get them signed by this person… no, we meant this other person, and then fax it in just to get your lunch break. No, we haven’t received your fax. Oh, wait, yes we have. Oh, nope, that was the old one. No lunch break for you.

I did -not- get enough sleep last night.

I really need to breathe more deeply and regularly. This constant buzzing in my brain is irritating.

ConVocation and more Steven

ConVocation was a whirlwind of meeting long lost friends and crossing local paths. I’ll be posting more pics as soon as I get them developed. *gasp* Film? Yup.

The next two chapters of Steven are up on the short fiction page. Keep in mind that these are the scripts that are driving the comic book issues. My artist’s working hard on converting my writing style into a visual one, and I’ve been quite pleased with what I’ve seen so far. More in that vein soon.
