“first off, writers and writer-wannabes: do you have any favorite LJ communities that are writing related? i’ve promised myself i’d do something with this 1/3 done draft and i’m at a point where i could use some advice or guidance on the next step(s).”

So, this rejection from Baen has created an opportunity.

It’s time for a re-write.

I’ve already been re-doing all the intros to the chapters. The poetry is going bye-bye, and Timothy Marley is getting a bit of an upgrade.

The dream sequences are going to be double-checked, and only re-arranged if absolutely necessary.

The invasion of California will stay. The robots in California will stay.

They just may not be giant. And they likely won’t transform.

This is a big diversion for the last 4 or so chapters of the book. Would anyone like to share their opinion? You likely won’t get this chance after I become incredibly famous. ;)

Almost to the day…

Dear Author,

Thank you for showing us your novel, Remembrance. Unfortunately it does not seem right for us.

While due to the volume of submissions and the press of business it is impossible for us comment in greater depth, please do not take this rejection as being necessarily a reflection on your work; we can accept fewer than one percent of the manuscripts submitted to us.

Best of luck in another market.

Sincerely,

The Editors

Kickin’ it old-school. Rainbow logo, homie.

So, I’ve found the wonderfulness that is the Griffin iMate. I am one step closer to being able to sync my Newton on my iBook.

My question is this: Any of you Mac afficianados out there still have an old ADB cable lying around? I can get them for a decent price on eBay, but I’d rather rid someone of something just collecting dust in the basement, and put it to good use.

Oh, I’ve already tried MSU Surplus (AKA MSU Salvage). No go. Though they did have a beige G3 and an Indigo iMac that were reputed to work. Heh.
