Use of depricated operating systems.

Today has gone from restful, to stressful (self-induced), and back to restful.

Is it legal to use what would otherwise be a pirated copy of a depricated operating system? That is, one that is no longer supported and/or available for purchase from its company of origin?

Edit: What about an OS that’s still supported, but no longer available for sale?

This set was taken by ‘s digital camera. All but one of the pictures are of the rehearsal dinner at Dave & Buster’s in Utica, MI. The winds were so bad the night of the rehearsal that , who had planned the whole thing, decided to stay at home and make sure that the tent didn’t fly off. The poles and lines were literally being lifted out of the ground. To say that the man is noble is an understatement.

It ended up that the power went out, and I ended up writing my vows by candlelight. had no such difficulties at the hotel. Her difficulties were of an entirely different nature. :) But, you’ll have to ask her about those.

Also, the last picture is of the afterparty. I have no idea how that one snuck in there. :)

Spread the Art – a meme

the first five people to respond to this post will get some form of art, by me, specifically for them. i make no guarantees about quality, but your piece will be unique.

the only catch, of course, is that as with most memes, if you sign up, you have to put this in your own journal as well.

Okay, who wants a story? :)

Less with the cranky, more with the substance.

It looks like I forgot to mention it, but the new Steven fiction went up on Monday. You can check it out here:

Updates are going to resume on their Monday schedule. Sketches are still coming, with the intended modifier of “soon.” :)

should be landing in Detroit Metro any minute. I’m trying not to agonize. Trying. Heh.
Update: Her flight has been delayed until 11:45 PM Eastern.
Update: Her flight has landed. She’s back, safe and sound.

I’ve been running errands and uploading wedding pictures instead of writing before work, lately. I’ve got some updates to make on my main web site, as well, and some eBay auctions to set up. I actually spent time in my office at home last night and today.

People at work have been noting that my expression has been down as of late. And I’ve been out of it. It’s funny, without to interact with, I find myself in a state much like my days of silence, contemplating heavily. I’m not thinking about particular things or issues or whathaveyou, just deep inside myself. The fact that it’s Autumn, overcast, and rainy does nothing but encourage this.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): The new CEO of soft drink giant PepsiCo is Indra Nooyi, striking a modest but significant blow for female equality in the business world. That’s the good news. The bad news? Pepsi is a terrible product that rots teeth, has no nutritional value, and contribute to the obesity epidemic. Keep this in mind as you carry out your assignment in the coming week, Taurus. Fight and claw and scheme and dream to raise up the power of the feminine (yes, even if you’re a man), but only if it’s a version of the feminine that raises up everyone and everything else, too.

This set has a lot of the reception, and the bits before the ceremony, that haven’t yet shown up in other sets.

Also, we’re finally getting a good group of the Honeymoon pictures developed, so those will be coming as well. :)

That is IT! NO MORE!

We all know who Mark Foley is, right? The Republican who until recently was a Representative in our nation’s House of Representatives? Accused of sending sexually inappropriate messages to UNDERAGE male pages? The Republican who has come out of the closet as gay?

Apparently, Fair and Balanced Fox News is calling him a Democrat. There’s a screen shot behind the link. Is this desperation? I mean, of all of the lies before, people aren’t actually going to believe that this guy is a Democrat, right?

I’m not so sure. I’ve heard some people call Al Gore an idiot. Literally, that a Vice President of the United States (and we’re not talking about Quayle) was of lower intelligence. I didn’t press the matter, but this came shortly after An Inconvenient Truth had its local run in the theaters, and during a neo-conservative backlash.

Gore had the balls to admit that an act that the President signed (of the same party, by the way) was unconstitutional. Does anyone remember the Telecommunications Act of 1996? The precursor to the DMCA, the explosion of power of the RIAA and MPAA, and the spread of DRM. I wasn’t the only one wearing a blue ribbon, was I? This man was misquoted for saying that he created the internet, when he simply said that he had a part in it. This man, who is NOT running for political office, is attempting to help the environment, anyway. (Shut up, Gerry. It doesn’t matter if it’s possible. It matters that people try.)

Now, one of their own guys is exposed, and they turn on him like a pack of hyenas. They call him the worst thing in the world. They call him a Democrat.

And they expect you to believe this bullshit. The sad part is, you probably already do.
