Less with the cranky, more with the substance.

It looks like I forgot to mention it, but the new Steven fiction went up on Monday. You can check it out here:

Updates are going to resume on their Monday schedule. Sketches are still coming, with the intended modifier of “soon.” :)

should be landing in Detroit Metro any minute. I’m trying not to agonize. Trying. Heh.
Update: Her flight has been delayed until 11:45 PM Eastern.
Update: Her flight has landed. She’s back, safe and sound.

I’ve been running errands and uploading wedding pictures instead of writing before work, lately. I’ve got some updates to make on my main web site, as well, and some eBay auctions to set up. I actually spent time in my office at home last night and today.

People at work have been noting that my expression has been down as of late. And I’ve been out of it. It’s funny, without to interact with, I find myself in a state much like my days of silence, contemplating heavily. I’m not thinking about particular things or issues or whathaveyou, just deep inside myself. The fact that it’s Autumn, overcast, and rainy does nothing but encourage this.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): The new CEO of soft drink giant PepsiCo is Indra Nooyi, striking a modest but significant blow for female equality in the business world. That’s the good news. The bad news? Pepsi is a terrible product that rots teeth, has no nutritional value, and contribute to the obesity epidemic. Keep this in mind as you carry out your assignment in the coming week, Taurus. Fight and claw and scheme and dream to raise up the power of the feminine (yes, even if you’re a man), but only if it’s a version of the feminine that raises up everyone and everything else, too.

Steven Comic Site – Updated!

The fiction over at the Steven website has been updated. This one goes stumbling through Steven’s mishmash of a memory. The new sketches are on their way, and will begin to be rotated through the background as soon as I’ve got them scanned in.

I need to tell you these things.

I put that title on here, and my fingers freeze on the keyboard for thirty seconds.

I won these, and they are a sweet pair of headphones. They even block out the crazy Theio’s regular cackle and shouting. This makes me very happy.

I’m hoping that someone buys this, just like I hope they buy whatever else I’ve been putting up on eBay for the last couple of months. I mean, my Amazon.com Marketplace sales just never seem to stop, and eBay, for the most part, has followed suit.

The old Compaq laptop from Nate and Cheryl is next. Definitely for parts. Motherboard is very, very unhappy. Then there’s ‘s RAM and parting and selling Tom‘s desktop units. I am clearly going to have to purchase a postal scale.

Also on the list of purchases is more RAM for my iBook, a USB/mini-USB cable for getting images, movies, and such off of my phone, and hopefully a PS/2. I’m going to try to get these things used locally first (except for the cable), and then hit up teh intarweb.

It still makes more sense for me to buy used. Why would I encourage more new things to be made, when there are perfectly good used things out there that don’t need more resources to be expended in making them? Oh, I’ve got to remember to put up my copy of Asheron’s Call for sale.

Tonight is the season premiere of Stargate: SG1 and Stargate: Atlantis on the SciFi channel. and I are heading out to LiquidWeb and taking wholesale advantage of the mini theater in their lounge. Have I mentioned how much I’m loving my new job?

I’m tired, and it’s the kind of tired that makes me feel like my days have been really full lately. I’ve been learning SO much, and I still have to read a DNS/BIND book for work.

I have some thoughts that I need to get out about the Steven comic, but that will probably wait until tomorrow. For now, check this out.

Steven goodness.

Thanks to everyone who voted in the poll about Steven fiction. I’ve decided to follow your advice, but tweak it a bit.

I’m going to start this out weekly, but I’m not going to post it here. As a way to force myself to keep updating and working on the Dark Eternity web page, I’m posting the fiction on its front page. However, every time that the fiction gets updated, it will replace the fiction from the week before. That way, no easily browsed through archives, and hopefully interest will still be generated.

So, without further ado,

The fiction behind Steven: Issue 1, Chapter 1

Update on Writing Projects

Little City Mafia

  • The entire piece (or what I’ve got so far) needs to be typed up, and the character names need to be replaced.
  • The city name needs to be replaced with a fictional one.
  • The characters need to develop away from their outlines. No need for a second novel with too much shading of real people.
  • Research Bushido.
  • Contact about a visit to Cleveland (or him to MI) in the near future.

Adam’s Name

  • Talk to and Rick to make sure that they’re still interested.
  • Re-hash question of serial short story vs. RPG vs. novel.
  • Write the bit about Chicago.
  • Get a more thorough description of all characters – RP?

The Remembrance

  • Re-write chapter introductions as excerpts from Timothy’s writings. Drop a few more hints and explinations, as befits each chapter, through this.
  • Re-order Chapter 1 in its proper chronological order. Leave in the references to the seasons.
  • Re-distribute dream images so that the Shogun’s involvement shows up earlier. Possibly end each chapter with a dream segment, as each was begun with an excerpt.

The Glass Crown

  • Not tellin’. >;)

Steven

  • Finish re-writing what is done of Book 2.
  • Contact Ogre’s girlfriend about drawing, as well as the artists suggested earlier by you people.
